Customizing Your Dashboard

Kinderpedia Admissions lets you fully customize your dashboard layout. You can show or hide widgets, rearrange their order, resize them, toggle titles and backgrounds, and save your preferred layout.

Entering Edit Mode

1. On the Dashboard page, click the gear icon (Customize button) in the top-right area.
2. The dashboard enters edit mode, and a customization drawer opens on the side.
3. Widgets become draggable and display resize/visibility controls.

Showing and Hiding Widgets

In the customization drawer:

1. All 16 available widgets are listed, grouped by category (Operational, Analytics, Tasks, Activity, Demographics).
2. Each widget has a toggle switch to show or hide it.
3. Toggle a widget on to add it to your dashboard; toggle it off to remove it from view.

Hidden widgets are not deleted -- they can be re-enabled at any time.

Rearranging Widgets

While in edit mode:

1. Hover over a visible widget until you see the drag handle.
2. Click and hold the drag handle, then drag the widget to a new position in the grid.
3. Drop the widget where you want it. Other widgets will shift to make room.

The grid layout is responsive -- widgets wrap to new rows based on their column spans and your screen width.

Resizing Widgets

Each widget can be resized to different column widths:

1. In edit mode, look for the size selector on each widget or in the customization drawer.
2. Choose from the available sizes: XS (3 columns), S (4), M (6), L (8), or XL (12 -- full width).
3. The widget immediately resizes in the grid.

TIP

Not all sizes are available for every widget. Some widgets have a minimum size to ensure their content displays properly. For example, the Quick Stats widget requires full width (XL) to show all KPI cards in a row.

Additional Widget Options

For each widget, you can also:

• Toggle transparency -- make the widget background transparent so it blends into the page.
• Toggle title visibility -- show or hide the widget's title bar to save vertical space.
• Edit custom title and subtitle -- give a widget a personalized title that replaces the default.
• Set fixed height -- adjust the widget's height for consistent layouts.

Saving Your Layout

After making changes:

1. Click the Save button in the customization drawer or at the bottom of the edit mode toolbar.
2. Your layout is saved and will persist across sessions.
3. A success toast notification confirms the save.

To discard your changes:

1. Click Cancel to revert all changes and exit edit mode.
2. The dashboard returns to its previously saved state.

Resetting to Default

If you want to start fresh:

1. Open the customization drawer by clicking the gear icon.
2. Click the Reset button at the bottom of the drawer.
3. Confirm the reset when prompted.
4. The dashboard returns to the factory default widget layout.

WARNING

Resetting the layout is not reversible. Your custom arrangement will be lost. If you want to preserve it, save it as a template first (see the Dashboard Templates article).

Layout Persistence

Your dashboard layout is saved per-user and per-school. This means:

• Each admissions team member can have their own dashboard arrangement.
• Your layout is preserved when you log out and log back in.
• Clearing your browser cache may reset your layout to the default. To protect against this, save important layouts as templates.
